RecLeaguer Code of Conduct Guidelines

RecLeaguer's mission is to make sports more accessible for all skills by providing leagues where players sign up as individuals and balanced teams are created. Our focus is to build community through playing sports.
We are dedicated to fostering a welcoming, safe and fun environment for all involved in our events and leagues. As a member of our community, we expect you to adhere to the following code of conduct, promoting our focus of building community through playing sports. This code applies to all events hosted by RecLeaguer or in partnership with RecLeaguer.
Welcoming, Inclusive Environment
- Encourage all participants to grow in their sports skills through supporting your team members and cheering each other on.
- Embrace and celebrate the diversity of participants, fostering an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for all no matter their skill level or experience with RecLeaguer.
- Refrain from engaging in any form of discrimination, harassment, or bullying based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, skill level, or any other characteristic.
Sportsmanship, Respect and Fair Play
- Display good sportsmanship in both victory and defeat knowing that everyone is there for fun, to grow skills and move their body in community.
- Refrain from violence, aggression, disrespectful behavior, taunting, trash-talking, or aggressive gestures.
- Abide by the rules and regulations of the game as set by RecLeaguer. RecLeaguer reserves the right to alter rules and regulations throughout the season based on the community of players.
- Play to the best of your abilities without intentionally causing harm or unnecessary injuries to other players. Be able to read the room and tone down intensity when appropriate and needed.
Safety and Equipment
- RecLeaguer participants will play safely and in control at all times. They will not handle or throw equipment in a way so as to cause harm to any other individual or property.
- Follow the instructions of league officials and staff regarding safety protocols and equipment usage, which may change throughout the season.
- Follow facility/venue rules and regulations while participating in RecLeaguer events.
Conflict Resolution
- If conflicts arise during a game or event, handle them in a calm and respectful manner and remember that everyone is there for fun.
- Report any instances of misconduct, harassment, or unfair play to the league host or leadership promptly.
Compliance with Policies
- Adhere to all the rules, guidelines, and policies set forth by RecLeaguer.
- Comply with any directives or decisions made by RecLeaguer leadership including hosts.
Integrity, Honesty & Accountability
- Represent yourself truthfully, honestly, and accept responsibility for your actions and conduct throughout your time with RecLeaguer.
- Avoid engaging in any behavior that could compromise the mission of RecLeaguer.
RecLeaguer Leadership may restrict, suspend and/or terminate participation of any player whom they determine, in their sole discretion, has violated the code of conduct or made any statements (verbal, written or electronic) detrimental to the RecLeaguer Community.
